BEFORE OPPORTUNITY

As we journey into the New Year, it is important to learn how to work with opportunities. In doing this, I have brought you an excerpt from my book “All You Need Is Opportunity”. The nuggets hear are to help us well equipped before exploiting every opportunity at your disposal. However to have the detailed teaching on Opportunity you will do well get a copy of the book. God bless you real good.

 Be conversant with your God given purpose and potential
The first thing you need to do before searching for opportunity is the knowledge you must have about your purpose and potential, because every opportunity will place a demand on them.
You are here on planet earth for a specific reason. This is what you are to fulfil in the course of your stay on earth. Every opportunity is therefore towards the revealing of your purpose. Every opportunity that comes you way is to expose the purpose of God for your life.
Knowing your purpose is not enough; you must have the knowledge of your potential. This is essential because your purpose will always have the need of your potential to be fulfilled. The knowledge of this will ultimately help you appropriate the opportunities at your disposal, and moreso the ones you are not meant to exploit.

 Develop your skills
To be more candid with you, it is important to know that the opportunities that open to you are traceable to your several abilities or skills, which are also referred to your gifts, talents or potentialities. You have to discover them and undertake any activity that will develop them for your own benefit. I think this is one of the greatest investments you could ever make for life and for yourself.
This is necessary all opportunities will require a measure of developed skills for maximum exploitation. Get the required knowledge and skill that your gift or qualification will need for efficient utilisation of opportunities.
One thing you must know is that no how meagre or fabulous your present opportunity is; it will only require developed skills and knowledge to tap into the fortunes lying in it.

 Desire
You must also have a desire to fulfil your dreams, realize your ideas, etc. It is this desire that will prompt you for an unquenchable search for an opportunity in a bid to fulfilling your dreams.
Don’t wait for manna to fall from heaven. You have the manna within you in form of dreams, ideas, purpose, skills, etc. you only need desire to bring them to limelight via opportunity.

 Be Relational
In the previous chapter, I put forward that one of the ways to get opportunities is to have and maintain good relationships. This is crucial because you will always need someone to help you fulfil your dreams and you will also need someone to take you to the next phase of life. You what! In such relationships, just a mere “signature” might bring you to a world of fortune.
People are opportunities you will ever need to reach your pinnacle. Hence Pst. Faith Oyedepo (Mrs), said, “Where there are no people, the vision perishes.” Learn to be relational with the right people that can serve as opportunities for you knowing that you need them to accomplish your dreams and purpose, and also they need you to get theirs fulfilled.

 Understudy the opportunity
That I said, “all you need is opportunity” does not mean that you should invest in or go into the exploitation of every opportunity. This is where wisdom and discretion comes to play.
You should be able to know the opportunity to invest in and which you should not. Many people are duped today because they never understudied the opportunities that appeared to them as a great fortune. Be wise!
Above all, don’t slack when you discover the right opportunity. It will do you no good.

PRAISE GOD WITH UNDERSTANDING

“Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises. For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.” (Psalm 47: 6 – 7).
I welcome you to this month of gratefulness. We are taking time throughout this month of December to appreciate God for all that He has done for us. I glad to bring you the message God taught us on the 5th December 2010.
It is a common knowledge that we are to appreciate every good done to us especially God who has done all things well for us (Mark 7: 37). But in appreciating or praising God we are required to do it with understanding. Until we praise God with understanding we may never do it nor will it bring us blessings from God.
The psalmist said, we should sing praises with understanding. In other words, our praises should be guided with good understanding if at all it must ascend to the throne of God and must be pleasant unto His hearing. It is the understanding that differentiates whether we are really praising Him or making noise.

WHAT TO UNDERSTAND
If we are required to praise God with understanding, it is therefore important to know what God wants us to base our praising Him upon. This understanding will guide us in bringing quality praise to God anytime and anywhere.

1. Know That God Is Your Creator
The Scripture said “Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.” (Psalm 100: 2 – 3).
The first understanding that must guide your praise is the fact that God is your creator. We are to praise Him first and foremost for creating us. This understanding helps you to recognize your source of existence, knowing that you are not a product of evolution but a masterpiece of God the creator. He took time to create and fashion you just the way you in revealing His glory.

2. Know That God Is Holy
“Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.” (Psalm 99: 9).
The second sacred truth in praising God is that God is holy. This understanding should create in us the sense of repentance and holy conscious in approaching before God. That we are required to praise God does not mean we should praise Him in sin. Although God loves sinners, He does not anyway tolerate sin. For this reason we are admonished to “worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.” (Psalm 96: 9).
Until our praise is in the beauty of His holiness, it will not become a sweet smelling savour. Let you praise be guided with that understanding that God is holy and you are to praise Him in the beauty of holiness not with a heart of sin.

3. Know That You Are Made From Dust
God’s Word said “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” (Genesis 2: 7).
Beloved, God carefully made us from the dust of the ground. This should also guide us in praising Him knowing the fact that it is His breath that is keeping us alive. Outside His breathe we are but mere dead people.

This knowledge should create in us the sense of humility in our worship of God knowing fully well that He knows our frame. David said “For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.” (Psalm 103: 14).

Most times, pride has made us forget how we were made. No matter what we have or look today, we are the product of dust and breathe of God. This should humble us in giving praise to God. For this reason the Scripture says “Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.” (Psalm 150: 6)

4. Know That God Has Not Dealt With You According To Your Sin
This is very important to understand in giving quality praise to God. Most times the way we jump and shout in church make us forget that we have not wrong God in any sort. But hidden beneath those jumping and shouting are lies, fornications, covetousness and many other sins.
But praise God for His mercies! He has not dealt with us according to what our sins deserve. If He has done, it will be very clear that nearly none of us would survive His judgment.
The Scripture say “He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.” (Psalm 103: 10). We must praise God with the understanding that He has not deal with us according to our sins but through His forgiveness.
The only reason we have boldness to approach God is because He has cleansed us from all unrighteousness. If not out jumping, shouting and singing will remain irritating odour before His nostrils.
Praise God with the understanding that His mercies have covered your sins, weaknesses and shortcomings.

5. Know That God Is Watching Over You
With this understanding we should praise God knowing that He is watching over us to protect and keep us away from the plans of the enemies. If it had not been the Lord on our side, the enemy would have swallowed us up quick.
“Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.” (Psalm 121: 4 – 5)
Beloved, you are alive because God is keeping you. You may have taken some drug to enable you sleep; there is no drug to wake you up. That you woke up means God has preserved you. The Scripture say “I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.” (Psalm 3: 5).

6. Know That God Is The Source Of Your Resource
It is important to know that we brought nothing into this world neither are we going to take anything from it. Naked we came and so we shall depart. This means all that we have came to us. And God is the source of all that we have.
For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it? (1 Corinthians 4: 7).
We must approach God in praise knowing that God is the source of all that we have. This should create an attitude of humility in us owing to the fact that God has provided for all we have today.
“A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.” (John 3: 27).
If you have received anything, it is because God approved and brought it your way. Praise God in this understanding.

7. Know That God Has Fully Paid For Your Redemption
If you are not redeemed, all jumping, singing and shouting in the name of praising God are all in vain. Your praise will only be truly meaningful in the light of the redemption of your soul. And graciously God has paid for your redemption.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3: 16)
Jesus is our redemption. And if you have received Christ, hallelujah, praise God with the understanding that you are saved and that you have a place in eternity.
God bless you. Please make out time this month to praise God with this understanding.

Life In Christ

The most important thing to know about life is that it has a source. Just like any other thing, life did not just begin from the imaginary world.
The source of life is God. We must begin to recognize this truth and put ourselves in line with the Lord in order to have the full blessings God has for us.
This was one of the lessons Jesus brought to light when He said "I the vine, ye are the branches".
We must understand that on our own we have no life. Our life is hidden in Christ. Hence Paul said "Christ is our life"(Col 3: 4).
Less begin a new pursuit of our true life in Christ Jesus. Life is miserable without Christ.
Welcome to a new beginning. Get set for 2011 with the Life Revealed.

The Real Men

The male holds the key to nations. As the male goes, so go the family, society and the world. It is critical that the subject of the male's crisis be a priority for men, women and national governments, so we can secure progressive social developments in the world. The number one challenge to the male is his identity crisis. The average man is confused about his manhood, masculinity and sexuality. He does not have a clear definition of who a man is suppose to be. My prayer is that as you explore the contents of this site you will find the answers to many of these challenges. These answers will change your life forever and you will become a Kingdom influence in the earth.

Principle of Life

Welcome to Path Founder's blog today!

beloved, one sure thing about life is that God has designed life to be lived under certain principles. In fact, God has principles which everyone must adhere to in order to enjoy His blessings in full.
One of such principle is that of TIME
God works with time and He has designed life to revolved around time.
Not until we know God's time for us and channel our abilities to God's time, we may never enjoy Him to the full.
Solomon helped us understand that God made all things beautiful in His time.
The beauty of life in hidden in the timing of God. Until we discover and walk in His time we are yet to live in the beauty of God.
I want you today to begin a discovery journey on God's time for your life.
This is a principle for a life full of joy and pleasures

Season of Visitation

I welcome you to this seasons of visitation from the Almighty God.
The Lord whispered to my hearing that we are already in the season of His visitation. Naomi gave us a clue in Ruth 1 verse 6 that God always visits His people with bread - His blessings, presence, goodness, etc.
I don't really know what you need from God. But one thing I know is that whenever God visits a man, He turns all his captivities around.
When God visited Sarah in Genesis 21: 1, we were told that her barrenness was changed to fruitfulness. When God visited the people of Israel in Egypt, they came out of their bondage.
from this day forward whatever barrenness and bondage you have been hitherto, God's visitation is bringing you out.
I rejoice with you become you are going to have a song to sing. Those that laughed at you are going to laugh with you.
Get set to receive this visitation of the Lord.
It is your season.
It is your time to rejoice.

Time is All You have

Time is the most valuable asset in the world. It is the same everywhere and to everyone. We all under the sun have the same 24 hours every day for the year.
Time is like the soil. It gives you whatever you plant in it. If you plant crops, that is what it is gives you. If you choose to build on it, it will definitely give you a building. The soil only gives you what you put into it.
The same is true of time. It will only give you what you put into it. Put nothing, it gives you nothing in return. Put something, it will also return to you what you have put into it. The law is: you shall reap what you sow.
In the other hand, time is a tool graciously given us to build our future. It is just an instrument to be used depending on your desires. If you don't use it, it will bring you no benefit but regret and frustration. What we get in life is depending on: 1.) what we do with time, and 2.) how we use our allotted time.
Succeeding people know just what to do with their 24 hours and how to use the time to bring back to them the fruit of what they have sown into time. The wise king Solomon said “to every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven . . . A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted . . . a time to keep silence, and a time to speak . . . He [God] hath made everything beautiful in his time”.
Your true beauty in life is hidden in your ability to identify the time you are in, what to do with the time and how best to manage your present time in order to achieve your dreams and the purpose of God for your life.
But majority of people do not know the time they are in nor do they know what to do with it. This is the reason some lovely individuals are frustrated at the end of the day. They encounter hardship, miss opportunities and live in miseries because they lack the understanding of the time they are in and have not been able to use their time well. For instance, what meaningful thing have you done to make you future better for the past 6 months? Now, before you is another 6 months gradually crawling away. What are you going to do with it? Time waits for no one; you need to start thinking.
We blame others instead of questioning our attitude towards time. We sleep when we are to plant. We sit idle when we are to work effectively and responsibly. Students use the time to read and engage it in watching movies. I have seen men who are to work hard to cater for the family and offer good education to their children wake up drinking and smoking their way to hell, poverty and destruction. We blamed our backgrounds, the devil, government, society, and even God, without pointing fingers to our lack of responsibilities.
Miserably we resort to claiming blessings instead of taking steps to work them out. We take prayer for every thing. No, there is a role for prayer, while another role for good use of time.
Let us take the Biblical advice to “redeeming the time because the days are evil”. Again, we are to walk in wisdom in redeeming the time. This is because your life will never be better than how you use your time. Destiny does not permit you to waste time but to invest it. We must begin to plant in the time of planting if we must not be hungry and beg in harvest time. We have to understand the time we are in and learn how best to use it. No matter how close you are to God, time wasted can never be regained. No prayer will ever make yesterday to become today. So, wake up from slumber.
While on earth, Jesus said, “I must work . . . while it is day; the night cometh, when no man can work”. He was anointed, still He knew when to work and when not to work. He knew when to pray and when not to pay. But many people don't understand this principle of life.
We all have the day and the night seasons. If you rest in your day, you will live in shame, regret and frustration in your night season of life. It is time to accept responsibility.
For instance, we are in the time of God's mercy and grace for the salvation of the souls. If you refuse to step out and receive His forgiveness of sin by accepting Christ Jesus, a time will come when you will definitely say, “Had I know”.
We are in the time of grace, but time is not our own. It is running out. We are heading to the time of judgment and justice. In the time of justice, beloved there is no mercy. Choose mercy and grace today while breathing.
Friend, our future depends on how we use our time. Your tomorrow will always reveal what you do with your time today. Remember, how you make your bed so you lie on it.
You have to build the future by seizing the moment you are in. You have to take some tools and shape your tomorrow to a better position as you have always dreamed. And by God’s grace I am equipped to help you this month in this regard.
Your destiny is great. But you have to pick up a challenge and courage to use your time wisely and productively today.
God bless you real good

TIME ALONE WITH GOD

Latrice Pace

Have you ever seen a couple and thought, "Wow, they look like siblings?" If given the opportunity to spend a little time with them, you may find that not only do they look alike, they think and act alike.

They speak the same language, have the same purpose, visions and goals. They are simply in sync. They have found their "rhythm" if you will. I witnessed 36 of the 52 year my parents were married (until death he did part) and they made it a priority to serve, learn, get to know and spend time with one another.

It may have even taken them a few years of many trials and errors, but the result was incredible harmony.

Ephesians 5:25 admonishes husbands to go all out in their love for their wives, exactly as Christ has done for us. A love marked by giving, not getting. Christ's love for us makes us whole and so should a husband's love toward his wife. His words should evoke her beauty.

Everything He does and says is designed to bring out the best in her which is to his advantage since they are one, striving for that harmony. Our fellowship with God is parallel to the marital relationship. The more time we spend with Him, the more we become the mirror image of Him. We will begin to think, act and speak like Him.

Spending time with God should never a task or chore. It's not the next bullet on your to do list or a quick consult when you're either in distress or looking for answers. Our time with Him is our existence. It's where we receive instruction, get clarity and direction.

It gives us the opportunity to know Him and become of like mind. We become aligned with His will, His purpose and His plan for our lives. Our time with him teaches us to love unreservedly. It heals the wounds of our past and makes us whole.

His words spoken during our time alone affirms and builds confidence while at the same time demolishing fear and inferiority. It establishes trust so we can undoubtedly know His character and rest boldly in His abilities. It disconnects us from confusion, frustration and our daily emotional roller coasters. It gives us access to His peace and puts us in the calm of it all.

Our time with God exposes our hidden motives, impure hearts, and personal agendas, which help keep us in a place of humility, thereby bringing us all to repentance that we may experience 'the refreshing from His presence' (Acts 3:19).

The Power of a Praying Man

This post was originally written by Kevin Bond and was sent by Streaming Faith

The Power of a Praying Man

Prayer has always been the backbone of the African American family. Historically, not many African American men were willing to admit the fact that they regularly practiced prayer at home. Even fewer could say that they learned from their fathers the essential discipline of prayer.

For too many men, their twisted quest to be perceived as macho put the woman on the front lines as the spiritual leader of the home. Women became the ones to pray and carry the children to church while men stayed home, watched the games or played golf with the boys. This relinquishment of responsibility was due in part to the misguided perception that men who are active in church are soft or sissified.

Well, I'm from a different generation and I'm proud to say that the opposite was true for me. Not only was my father a praying man, but my grandfather was also a man of much prayer. They both instilled in me the practice of prayer, and I'm now passing that same trait to my sons and daughters.

My father, Alex T. Bond Jr., was a man who taught his children at an early age the power of prayer. Not once do I remember sitting down to a family meal without first asking God to bless our food. Not only would Dad pray over the food, but he would also raise any family issue or crisis that may have been looming that day. This could be work or schoolrelated, social, or even political. This became my norm.

In fact, for many of my friends who came over to visit at meal times, it became their norm. We could always tell those who weren't accustomed to this lifestyle of prayer because they would neither know Bible verses nor see the need to ask God's blessing over the meal. In an effort to plant the seed of prayer in my friends' lives, Dad would ask one of his children to lead prayer.

We gladly did so and were thrilled at the opportunity to share with our friends the practice of prayer that our parents had taught us. The most rewarding part was that we were also encouraged to practice this habit at school, as well as in our friends' homes. But Dad's prayer life extended far beyond the dinner table. As a child, I witnessed my father leading the church in prayer as a choir director, deacon, evangelist, and ultimately a pastor.

What a joy to know that the man people came to know and love publicly as Pastor Bond, was the same man I knew and loved privately as Dad. I am certain that Dad's active prayer life played a vital role in his development as he progressed through the different stages of his ministry assignments.

You see, prayer to us was recognized as one's communion with his Heavenly Father. For Christians, it's the way we commune with our God. It's the language through which we communicate with God. The Bible even states that Jesus communicated with God through prayer while He dwelt among us on earth. Prayer is one of the indispensable disciplines in the life of the Christian.

In fact, there's a motto that we use that states, "No prayer, no power; little prayer, little power; much prayer, much power." I feel blessed to have had a father who unashamedly prayed and taught our family to do likewise. I never saw my father hit my mother, spend the night in jail, drink, nor use drugs. I'd like to believe that it was because the prayer that he engaged in privately caused him to live openly as a righteous man.

That's my personal experience with the praying man God chose to rear me. I have adopted many of his methods and continue to pass them on to the next generation!

Dad , God rest your soul! Thanks for teaching us to pray!

Looking Ahead

I am so convinced that these first two months of this year of Greater Things have brought you some very good reasons to smile in the midst of the times. Still to come is the best of God for you in order for you to experience His Greater Things in all areas of your life.
The coming month, March, is going to be an explosive month whereby we will explore the depth of God's riches through faith. I want you to know that it is always with faith we access our glorious destiny in God. Without faith it is impossible to get anything from Him.
Greater things, according to Jesus, will only be our experience through faith. Jesus told Nathaniel, "Because you believe you will see greater things". So it is on the bases of faith we see, partake and share in the greater things of god.
Through God's word we will be learning how to build our faith so as to take delivery of our greater things which redemption has purchased for us.
Get set for greater things provoked by faith.
March 2010 is "My Faith will produce Greater Things for me"
