Winning from the Inside

Winning from Inside

Now there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: but David waxed stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul waxed weaker and weaker. -2 Samuel 3:1

Saul represents the old nature, self, flesh or the sinful nature.

David represents the new man, divine nature which we got through the redemption of the Christ, sanctified self or righteous nature.

This two nature just like David and Saul, they are having a long war in our soul. They are striving for the control of the entire being. To the one we yield ourselves, to whom become servant. If Saul wins, then we become servant of Saul unto sin, but if David wins, then we yield ourselves to holiness hence becoming the servants of righteousness.

For one nature to win, the other must become weak.

While David was waxing stronger and stronger to win the long lasted war, the house of saul waxed weaker and weaker.

The house of David in us, which is the new nature, must wax stronger and stronger on a daily bases into order to win the war over the house of Saul, which is the old nature, sinful nature which we inherited from Adam.

However for the house of David in us to wax stronger, we must deliberately feed our souls with the eternal word of God which has power to transform the human mind in conforming us to the image of the son of God- the new nature residence in us.

The old nature and the new nature will never come to balance. Just like David and Saul, one must assume the position of authority and rulership in order for us to live in the fulness of the Godhead.

Do you want to live in the abundance of God's presence and partake of His divine nature? Then you have the sole responsibility of feeding your heart with the word of God for the new man in you (the house David) wax stronger and stronger to take charge of your entire being.

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. -Romans 8:5

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. -Romans 8:7

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. -Romans 8:8

Saul, who represents the old nature, could not pleased God. Following Saul will therefore not make us to please. In fact we cannot please God in the house of Saul.

Our pleasing God is right in the house of David, the new nature, Christ. Remember, God testified that David was a man after His own heart. This means David lived to pleased God. Again God said of Christ as His beloved son in whom He is well pleased.

This means, in the house of David, we can please God. And this house of David is the new nature that is controlled by the Spirit of God through the Word of God.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. -Romans 8:14

The house of David is ruled by God Himself. Once God leads us, then we will please Him. But we must allow Him to lead us.

And it came to pass after this, that David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah? And the LORD said unto him, Go up. And David said, Whither shall I go up? And he said, Unto Hebron. -2 Samuel 2:1

David was led by God, so he pleased God.

The new nature is led by God, and so, it pleases God.

Let the Spirit of God lead you today. Renew your mind through the word of God. Then your new nature will wax stronger and stronger in winning the war over the house of Saul, the old nature.

God bless you today.

The Power of Giving

The Power of Giving

God has designed life to function by giving.

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.  -Luke 6:38

The beauty of life in giving.

You start dying when you stop giving.

Our giving comes back to us in 4 major ways.

1. Good measure

2. Press down

3. Shaken together

4. Running over.

With these, none of our giving comes back to us the same way we released it.

Our giving does among others the following things:

1. Giving brings us into good relationship with God.
Gen. 4:4, Hebrews 11:4
Abel had a testimony of good relationship with God by God receiving his giving.

2. Giving has power to avert curses
Gen.8:20 -21
After Noah gave, God averted the curse He had placed on the earth. When you develop the habit of giving, you consciously break curse upon your life and family.

3. Giving brings us in favor with God.
1 Kings 3:3-5
Solomon came into favour with God the moment he gave to God a well pleasing offering.

4. Giving opens the door of favor and blessings upon our lives and endeavors.
Luke 6:38, Acts 20:35
Abraham opened the door of fruitfulness to Sarah by giving food to strangers.
Gen.18:1-5, 9-10;
Gen.21:1-2

5. Giving creates our future harvest.
Gen. 8: 20-22,
Gal. 6: 7-9.

I believe this brief teaching will help you develop the habit of giving and also consider giving a delightsome thing to the Lord and man. This is because you will definitely reap it back.
